Can you keep mouthbrooders with plecos?

Hello all,

I was curious as to whether or not mouthbrooders (IE: Yellow Lab) could breed with a pleco in the tank... I know plecos eat eggs that are laying on rocks etc, but was curious as to whether or not a pleco would interupt the breeding process for a pair of mouthbrooders.

Yup mine had no problems, had a yellow lab pair, electric blue trio, and lelupi pair all in same tank with 2 plecos, they did fine

+1, I never bred africans but I believe they put the eggs in thier mother after they are fretilized and will hold them till they are free swimming.

I've had my Mbuna breed too with three plecos in the tank

Cichlids are awesome parents and would keep the pleco`s at bay while spawning. I have breed many cichlids with pleco`s in the tank and never had a problem. Where the problems come about is with Angels and Discus, cos the pleco`s will suck the eggs off the spawning site.
