how big are they?should be no prob, aros have a tendancy to not bother or bite anything which is "flat", eg.stingray,discus,angelfish,etc.but your water parameters have to be optimized for the discus and u have to add a heater in if u dun have 1.
I'd still ask for the species of this arowana regardless. What species is it? That may help tell you whether discus are fine or not. An enclosure such as the aquarium is far different from their native habitat which may allow most fish to escape predation, etc.
What kind of aro and what size are the aro and discus? A jardini would be too risky. I had a 15 to 17" black aro with 5" discus no problems. When my silver was 6 or 7" I had it with some 3" juvi discus, only problem came was when one of the discus got in the way of the silver aro during feeding. The end result was the disus loosing part of the top fin ans a little bit of tail.
There will be risks and you will need to meet all the requirments of both fish. I've had no problems with my aros in 84 degree water at a 6.6 pH.
