If you are talking about an electric blue JD, then the answer would be no. The JD would kill the electric blue JD. Electric blue JD, from what I heard are hard to raise to a large size let alone with a fish that will beat on it. Also the have a pretty peaceful disposition. You can keep them with tetras and stuff.

Very bad idea to mix an EBJD in with any of the common south/central american cichlids. Most of them get way too big and way too aggresive. My friend put one in with his oscar and realativly calm GT and it was gone the next day. I wouldn't do it. Plus they grow ALOT slower than the normal one.

The electric blue like the gold dempsey are captive bred morphs. you could mix them but as previously stated they are alittle more fragile then their normal patterned cousins so may stress due to the fighting or if the tank is big enough they may just get along how big is the tank. I wouldn't put small tetras with elect. blues as they are still dempseys. I never personally had elect. blues but friends of mine did & there isn't to much difference in temperment from other cichlids, just mellower then common forms.
