I have a pretty fully stocked 240 g tank. My main goal is to buy enough of the right plants to do a good job of reducing nitrates. I have an aro, 2 peacock bass, an African Tiger Scat and 5 bichirs. Can you recommend some plants for my tank that the scat won't eat and that will do a good job of reducing nitrates? I just have a small 4 ft light fixture for now with a regular bulb I bought from Home Depot.

I might be mistaken but I believe java moss and pennywort are both considered to be "nitrate suckers." I would guess that fast growing, hardy plants in general would be good for reducing nitrates.

id recommend getting some hornwort or cabomba and use it as a floater. they do a good job of sucking up nitrate and making the water clean and clear.

Pothos in your filters, it's sucking up nitrate like a sponge in mine right now. 50 percent reduction in nitrates after one month
