what about the geometric way where the top or bottom fin touches the tail if you draw an imaginary line through it. if it touches the tail than male if not female.
OK thank you. I had a breeding pair but the male was to ugly so I put a better looking one in with the female and I'm just not to sure its a male. butt it behavior was that of a male in the other tank.
Better to put the female in with a group and let her pick her own mate. You can't tell male or female behavior. I've had females that were alpha in a group of a dozen.
