Can you sex my texas for me please?

My wife thought this texas was pretty and wanted it for our tank. I said sure why not. After we got home i started reading up learning more about this new guy. I read they are pretty easy to breed. So I thought why not try it, I have a spare tank to try it in. I've been reading on how to determine the sex but im confused on how to tell.

okay then i was correct. I had read about the spot but I wasn't a 100% sure. Thanks! so I should go back to my lfs and look for one without the spot then. any other male specific marks?

Thats an awesome little guy! I got a tank from my wifes cousin, but the filter is busted. the propeller spins but doesnt suck up water. ive tried to fix but no luck. I dont want to spend money on a filter as im giving the tank back. Think I can just do water changes?
