Can you tell me what these guys are?

Got these guys donated to me from a local pet shop that is getting out of fish.
He told me severums..the lights were off and I was just glad I was getting some decently sized fish at no cost I picked up a catfish to..but,both of these are impressive.
Please let me know if you have any idea...obviously not severums..I was thinking some sort of sunfish but, I don't think that's right lol...

They look like they could be a species of climbing perch, AKA climbing gorami.

Looks like a Paretroplus species.....P. menarambo maybe? Try the African board.

I don't think it's a cichlid. Paretroplus don't have the lobed fins like these. I would agree that it looks like some sort of perch (Anabas), I just don't know enough about them to figure out which one.

Climbing perch are actually Anabantids, related to gouramis, and bettas.
