Can you use a plstic kiddie pool?

You know the ones at wal mart that are the blow up ones. I saw one that says its 10'x6'x22". But I figured with the blow up ones you would have to take a foot off each side with the kind it is. But I was wondering could you use it? I know when I got my son one it had that plasticy smell or something and he smelled like it after he got out. What would you have to do to get it not to smell like that. Is it safe?

I use the hard plastic ones that are like a foot deep and 8' diameter for my little turtles, no problems...but yeah that rubbery smell would make me nervous.

yeah, I know my friend said they tried to use it, and over night their channel cat almost didnt make it. Made me kind of nervous.

i wouldnt use a blow up one if it were to pop it would be a disaster

It wouldnt be used forever, just a temp thing. Im just worried about that smell... you stick your arm in it and pull it out it smells like it.

if your worried about it, just buy a different style portable pool, theres a guy here who got 1 for his basement(in the indoor pool forum) and its for his big cats.

i used a 10 dollar wally one,its in my diy thread.
just let them run/cycle for a while.
that should get rid of smells/chemicals.

I wouldnt feel safe using blow up ones in case a big cat got its barbs stuck ion it. BANG
