I want to know where all my fellow canadians get their rare cichlids from??? When I say rare I basicly mean everything besides Oscars, GT, Cons, FM, JD, Texas, RD and Jags.

I am getting a 265 very soon, maybe a month or two and I want to do something big, like a Umbee, Dovii or Pbass and I need to know where you folks get this stuff from. Is there any sponsors in Canada??? any good cichlid websites or anything???

I get mine from Aquatropics (Dundas & Keele in Toronto). They have dovii, motaguensis, vieja guttulatums, bifas, sysnpilum, blackbelts, Hoplarchus psittacus, festae (sometimes). The owner is a big ca/sa cichlid fan (tell him I sent you).

Lee Newman (Curator of Tropical Waters at the Vancouver Public Aquarium) is breeding many CA/SA cichlids that have never been bred in captivity before. Though I don't know if he does anything on a larger scale. There were some articles in the two latest TFH's about what he's been doing.

I have some C. myersi that came from him (indirectly).
