Candles?

I tried searching but wasnt able to come up with an answer to my question.

Are scented candles ok to use in the same room as a fish tank? My girlfriend always want to light candles to make the house "smell pretty." I dont know if its safe or not though, I have read about glade plug-ins and febreeze causing problems.

I wouldn't think a scented candle would do any harm, im surprised there have been problem's with plug-in's unless they are put next to an air pump .I made a mistake with shake & vac when i got my first tank ,i had the air pump on the floor and sprinkled it too close i didn't realise untill my fish started dying.

Shake and Vac? Is it like that powder stuff you put on the carpet?
