Hello, this is my first post and I will confess to no small amount of nervousness as I have seen a significant amount of people saying 'learn to read', 'read the forums' and so forth. Firstly, just to get past that - I have read everything I can find, I have also done a lot of research outside of this including as many reference and source works as I can get hold of - but I really want some 'live' feedback so to speak.
I picked up a coral cat egg last week from my LFS, I ensured they didn't remove it from the water to prevent air, rechecked my system to ensure nothign strange in water quality - basically did my due diligence. I then sat back to wait, having assumed they had candled the egg to ensure it was viable. After 6 days I decided that I should check it myself and I cannot see either an egg sac or anything resembling a shark inside. I assume this is a 'wind egg' and the LFS are fine about returning it (although the want a water sample too which I find confusing as a wind egg doesn't have anything to do with my water quality but still.)
My concern is that somehow the shark is there, and I'm not seeing it - or that it's just "too early in the process". I don't want to risk carrying it back to the shop to find that I missed something obvious or risk damaging a viable shark. Wanted to get some thoughts on this from the experts here.
Thanks!
