I have a 125g tank that I'm going to be adding Pool filter sand to and am wondering what kind of canister filter would be the best buy. I'm not looking to spend a million dollars so nothing too crazy like that. We're going to be keeping an aro for some time until it grows too big as well as some more peaceful cichlids. Someone told me about eheim (sp?) and fluval canister filters. Thoughts?

Also lighting (also more on the inexpensive side) for the tank. We're not doin live plants so we dot need a plant light. Experiences with anything y'all like? Thoughts?

Thanks guys and gals.

I am very happy with my Marineland Double Bright LED. It is 36 inches long. It use it in the center of my 125. It makes a nice shimmer. The far ends of the tank are dimly lit, allowing the fish to choose how much light they get. You can find a good price online. Good luck!

Cant complain about my 48" marineland double bright led fixture or fx5 I use on my 125. Eheim is very pricey for big tanks, best bets are 2160 or 2162. The non classic eheims are over priced and skate by on the classic lines reputation., my 2076 (or 2075, I forget) is rated for a $159 but I wouldn't use it on anything bigger than a 40b.
