Sorry, but searching through the threads I've just gotten more confuse. I see that alot of MFKers use pot scrubbers in their canisters, but I also see that pot scrubbers is only useful for wet dries...

If I fill 3/4 of my marineland C-360 with pot scrubbers, will that do anything or since the pot scrubbers are useless in canister it won't do that much?

Pot scrubbers are most effective in wet/dry filters because of the surface area it has, and because it is exposed to air. You can use pot scrubbers in a canister it just won't be as effective as those ceramic ring thingy's. If I remember right marineland canister's come with the ceramic ring's, and bio balls. Did you get your's used?

Pot scrubbers are a good substitute for bioballs in a wd filter because of the conditions under which water is brought into contact with the media in that particular filter type. It appears that in many tanks, pot scrubbers provide adequate surface area and bacterial colonization when used in a canister filter. However, I can assure you that pot scrubbers do not come close to providing the surface area of various particulate media, such as Ehfisubstrat Pro, ceramic rings or even pumice granules (aka Matrix).
