Hey guys so what canister filter would you recommend for a 125g tank? I have not decided what I want to stock it with, but am leaning towards a CA/SA cichlid community, or maybe Jaguar cichlid, or a breeding set up. What filter would you recommend I look into? I have only used HOB up til now so I know pretty much nothing about canisters. thanks so much

I started mine with 2 Eheim 2217's and they were way too small. I ended putting a 2262 on it, and that's whatcha need with CA cichlids.

The Eheim classic series I still consider the best canister filter ever made and the concept was perfect. Have the water enter the filter at the bottom so you have absolutely no bypass.
I run a fx5 on my 125 and it works great, I had to move it recently and it has sand in it, It was so cloudy you couldnt see through it at all, a few hours later it was crystal clear
