canister filter for $60?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The filter is really very delicate fyi from what I heard..
Bump for check

Look up the brand name on here and Aquaria Central's site. People use them, but some mods are needed to make it a reliable...Simple stuff, but necessary to make sure you don't break it first time you clean it.

I think I'd rather go used. I just picked up a used Fluval 405 (used 3 months) for $60... if you keep your eyes open and find some local clubs you'll be able to find one soon.

i bought that filter and it works great. but like aznkidang said they are very delicate i broke my lid taking it out of my stand (small space just barely fit). i contacted topdogseller the guy that sells them on ebay, he is sending me a replacement for 10 bucks so its all good. i recommend you buy from him

I bought one, it's a pretty good filter for the money. I broke the lid first time I cleaned it, but I just sent them a picture and they sent me a new lid free. A lot of people that have them do some mods to the media to make it more efficient. I'm pretty sure there's a thread on here about it.

I don't know about that vendor but I have two of these CFS500 plus 4 of there CFS700 I love them. There's an ebay seller selling the 500 with free shipping. I cracked the glass that surrounds the UV light on one of my 700. The ebay seller replaced for free.

There is also CFS1000 and a CFS1200 I plan on getting the CFS1000

I wonder if the cfs500 would make a good bio-reactor...
