OK this if my first canister filter so I am a noob with these things. I usually only have sumps or Aqua Clears.
When I got the XP4 which I love it came with 4 sponges, I removed two because two is enough. 4 will just slow the flow for no reason.
Then I took out 4 bags of biomax from my aqua clears and put it into two trays in the XP4. Then I used one tray for those diamond shape things that Rena gives you. So now I have a lot of empty trays for more bio media. What should I use??? the bio max or those things they give you??? Plus they only give you very little of those triangle things, is that how much your only supposed to use in each tray??? Its only like 10 pieces, I usually pack my filters will biomax.
