Is there any canister filters on the market that have heat built into that recirculates through the pump and water as its filtering the water? Got a 300 gallon coming soon and also a 180.

I'm not sure if you can get that, as that sounds pretty complex. The closest thing I can think of to that would be Rena's heater that attaches to the XP series canister filter's tubing, but that's not really integrated into it at all.

Eheim has a thermal unit.

would two of those 2128 be enough enough filtration for the 300? it will have sumps as well. are their any other brands too have the heat in them?

You could always buy an inline heater, for example, Hydor ETH. I did that rather than buy a thermal canister filter.

I have heard the new canister filters these with the heat unit in them don't last long and alot of people have issues with the seals busting and the uv light seals busting cause of the heat and pressure involved in such a small area. I also noticed the new eheim model did not get a good review it only got 2 stars on dr fosters and smiths site.

I was going to buy a 2128 with the built in heater but found a lot of complaints about the heater. I guess the temp sensor goes into your aquarium and are very prone to breaking with very high replacement costs.

I am running a 300watt ETH inline heater and it is fine for a canister with 5/8" hoses but will restrict any canister with bigger hoses. There are some nice DIY inline heater builds in the DIY section that don't have the same restriction problems and use a standard tank heater. Personally I prefer submersible heaters in a sump. I think sumps are much better filters than canisters mainly because of the huge amount of O2 exchange they provide.

Since you are talking about getting a 300 gallon tank, I would recommend installing a sump on that beast. With a sump you could get excellent filtration, and you can add a titanium heater with an external thermostat that would be easy to adjust and never seen.

I have also heard the heat units go bad pretty fast with the Eheims. Either do what the others say and get an inline heater with a Jager heater or something comparable with a canister filter if you don't want to run the sump.
