When I was assembling my most recent fish tank I decided to use the Rena x3 for my filtration system. During the construction process I decided that the filter filled with water may be hard to work with and move around.

To combat this I put the canister filter on a sliding mechanism so I could slide it outside the tank and work on it without having to pick it up. The mechanism I bought was a heavy duty slide configuration for a kitchen trashcan (mine came with a trashcan).

It works GREAT and helps make the equipment easier to access. I don't have a picture readily available, but I can get some if it's requested.

Please do post some pics. Anything that makes it easier to remove the canister from the stand is great. Details are always appreciated.

I'll try to get it on that soon. I'm planning for a vacation at the moment (countdown one week) so things have been hectic. Once I get a few photos that actually work I'll show some folks.

As requested here are some images. Ignore the bad cable management as the wiring is temporary. Also, the hoses are slightly kinked because they're a bit short I plan on fixing that soon.

The actual drawer mechanism itself was purchased from Home Depot, link below.
