I have 7 3 inch peacock bass I'm going to put in a 92 gallon corner aquarium for a while till they get bigger. I'm curious what a good canister filter would be for that tank. It doesn't need to be name brand since it's just a grow out tank. I'd like something fairly reliable and wouldn't need cleaned often. Thanks.

Are you on a budget?

Here is an fx5 for $230 shipped. Add some Seachem Matrix bio media to it or I read there are a couple guys in the vendor section with cheap media. It should meet all your criteria.

I've read about a few knock offs but never used them.

If you can find an fx5 on ebay or craigslist, you may be able to get it even cheaper.

I got mine for $177 new. (No media). At that price, why bother with knock offs?

I don't think I'm on a budget, but I guess I'll have to ask my wife to be sure. lol. I bought an fx5 for 230 on ebay a while back I have on my 210. I had thought about getting another so I could put on the 210 as well when I'm done growing these up for a while.

Koienterprise is selling awsome filters for unbeatable prices. I just got 2 of his Aquatop 500UV's. They come with UV sterilizer and are 4 stage canisters. Quiet, distributed flow, and he charges no shipping. They go for $119. a piece. Got both mine for $238 and they are the best filters I have ever used. Water has never been this clear.
