i would say yes but it would cause the filter to use more work and there for have less filter output
 
if it is a good deal above the tank, it may screw with water pressure and GPH, but if it's just a little bit, you should be fine.
 
no you cannot
they run on the principal of siphon. for a siphon to work the input has to be higher then the output.
 
well somesay yess n some say no?????lol idk what to believe... n its only about 10 inches about the tank but not directly above its to the side about 3 inches

well its on a dresser and to the right to the dresser is a chest and to the left is my door way so theres not room ... the only other option is to take out two drors and make a shelf n sit it on there but i relly didnt want to do tht
