Canister help

Just got a Eheim 2000 series for my 29 and i need help starting the inlet
replaced the tubing with pvc so it goes into the tank, goes up, makes a U over to the other side into the filter. How do i get the inlet to start sucking water?
 
i syphon mine tonight with my mouth or fill up the canister half way before starting to create more pressure lol i thaught i was the only one tonight i got so pissed anyways keep the return line closed first start it up wait like a few minutes then open the return valve this worked for me let me know what happens
 
i dont have a return valve so is there anything else i can do?
 
oh you doing it straight flow? then take the return line in ur mouth and syphon this way thats how mine started on my 110 years back it helps alot and you should get a steady flow asap
 
agreed samething like i said b4 you will have to syphon it your self

Got it started with the siphoning idea. just lost a gallon of water all over my carpet in the process lol. thank you
 
oh yah the canister was only 40 bucks, brand new in a sealed box
i think thats a pretty bomb score :D

deff a score a just added a 2217 to my 240 that already has 2 fx5's on it my fish should be happy and the damn thing did the same thing to me i was heated bro uhhh but then finally and you feel happy again lol
