Hello I'm looking to buy a new filter and I want one that has a heater and uv sterilizer all in one. I currently have a eheim pro 3 thermo filter which has a heater in it. But I see that aqua top makes filters with uv sterilizers in them does any one make all in one? And I'd prefer a filter with a digital display like my eheim so I can see the temp etc. thanks for reading

You could always do an in-line water heater. Check out this website. They work really well. We have used several and love them. The temps don't budge from what we set. Also, if you have a canister filter already, you could hook it up to your canister's outflow and you won't even see the heater. It's not an eyesore in your tank and it's pretty easy to get it hooked up.

IMO, you don't need to use UV. Just keep the temperature up and use salt if you have a breakout. No need to use medications!

Maybe the UV is more for prevention and algae control? Since thats why i have mine...

All those things can be controlled by water changes. Majority of illnesses and parasites can be prevented and/or cured with a little bit of aquarium salt and warmer water temperatures.

I dont disagree... But some times it helps as peace of mind, not to mention, in my case coz i leave my lights on slightly longer than needed so i find it beneficial...
