Should I put a magnum 350 in my 20gl sump that goes to my 150gl tank (I have a Rena X4 on my 150gl)?

I have enough circulation. A power head inside the tank, the Rena, and the stronger powerhead coming from the sump into the tank. The circulation is just perfect for the 2 Vittatus and Spotted Gar. Not to much and not to little :) All fish seem happy with the current of the water

for extra filtration, yes you could put it in the sump I would imagine, I was kinda wondering the same thing for my big tank, so the canister wouldn't be in my tank making it ugly, but then I could still have the extra filtration...

canisters are designed to operate below the level of the tank. Unless your planning on running the cannister below the level of the sump you need to keep this in mind. The Magnum 350 IS, however, a good choice for this application because the motor is on the bottom of the housing rather than the top. It will work but with reduced efficiancy.

Good point Wolf! I forgot about that. I was just trying to get something to help give current in the sump and filter the pooh or what ever gets cought in there. Im going to try it and see what happs.

How was your water flow? Was it normal, or slower than usual?

The water in the sump has already gone over the bio-media and most of the NH3 has been converted to nitrate. The cannister would be of better use in the tank where there is a higher concentration of ammonia than in the sump.

I noticed a lot of dirt like stuff starting to build up in my sump, so im assuming that is pooh or other stuff coming from the tank. In my sump there is no water movement. I thought by adding a source of water flow and something to help clean the sump it would benefit me. What I might do is just buy another powerhead and throw it in the sump and add the 350 to the big tank.
Without starting a new thread, can anyone recommend me a pump that I can run two water supplys from that will still have a decent water flow (Trying to cut down on using so many power outlets, like 2 powerheads over 1 strong pump) for my 150gl and the same current in my sump (Im thinking if there is massive water flow, that nothing will sit in the bottom of the sump and everything should go threw my U/V)?
