Canister:water polishing pads?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I ran polishing pads in my fluval 404/405s before with no problems. All of the compartments have lids or snap to a compartment above it that contains the floss pretty well. It is possible some may get through but because the floss strands are long its not easy for one to fit through the waters slots even if it does break free.

I ran polishing pads for a couple months but IMO they clog too much/easily and my water remains crystal clear with out them.

I ran them all the time to prevent my water from getting cloudy in the first place. If your water is clear without them then I wouldnt bother with them. If its not, they arent a bad idea. If they clog a lot, it just means there is a lot of junk to filter in your water. you can always use a courser mechanical filter before the polishing pads to slow down clogging.
