so i just bought and installed a new canister of 2400l/h. however, i was not really impressed by the amount of water flowing out. my canister is 2 feet lower than the outflow tube(from canister to aquarium) and the inflow tube is about 18 inches inside the aquarium. my question is, is the canister really pumping 2400l/h? i guess pressure i.e the positioning of the canister plays an important role. if i put the canister higher, the pressure to absorb the water into the canister will be less. is there also a method to measure the water capacity per hour?

thx

I would not raise the canister. Also the distance that you are talking will not make that much difference. Get a 5 or 10 gallon bucket and fill it with the canister pump and time how long it will take to fill it. Then do the math.
