Just wondering how often everybody on mfk cleans there cannisters out. I try to clean out the pads and scrub the impellers down etc every 7-10 days but it seems like I should be doing it more often. Just figured id ask fellow mfkers to get an idea on how often everybody else does it.

It depends on the type of filter you got. Example I got a magnum 350 and I rinse the filter out every other week. I also have a RenaX4 and I clean it out probly every other month.
You also have to look at how many fish you have in your tank. The more fish the sooner the cleaning (I dont think once a week now).
How many fish do you have (also approx size) and what size tank do you have (or just give me your dimen of tank).

I rinse my eheims maybe 3-4 times a yr. And only if the flow is noticeablely reduced.

Well for example my 125g native river tank has a 9 inch LMB a 7 inch RD a 8 inch bullhead 3 shadowbass from 3 to 5.5 inches 5 long ear sunfish from 4 inches to about 6.5 inches and a 6-7 inche green sunfish. I also run 4 largish hobs (2 emp 400's 1 emp 280 and one penguin 350b) Yet it seems like my cannister it always fairly dirty so ive been thinking about going to a every 5 days clean out schedule on most of my cannisters. I run mostly xp3s but also have a cascade. (and yes im aware the lmb gets wayyy to big for a 125 but its growing slowly atm and hasnt eaten but a couple tank mates so far. it will be moved when needed)
