Land of sun
today i was cleaning my lights and canopy i oiled the hinges because they were quite hard to move so once i had cleaned it all up i placed it back on my tank with help (its a pretty huge canopy like 7x2x2) its quite heavy for a single person but any how i opened the canopy multiple times to see if the hinges were now easier to work with and well first couple open and closes were good then it slipped and it went crashing down on my thumb and now i cant feel it. and its super swollen

note to self never over due a hinge...

i almost killed myself with a canopy

I thought you were gonna say your lights or canopy fell in the tank lol. Id much rather get a smashed thumb :)

Having endured many hand injuries (thumb especially included) I can tell ya it sucks cause its the most used finger. If it swells too much at the end have a doctor drain it.
I once had two thumbnails and the very tips of my thumbs ripped off by a 300 pound metal roofing panel courtesy of the idiot on the other side carrying it. All was well.
Sorry to hear about your injury.

yeah I thought you were going to say the canopy fell in and electrocuted your entire stock!

I once managed to have a canopy slip on my hand while I was holding a drinking glass (I was trying to prime a cannister). Long story short-- canopy slams onto glass, glass shatters sending shards all over the aquarium, I cut my hands up pretty nicely trying to frantically get the pieces out before they shred my fish.

an alternitive to seeing a doctor to get a swollen injury drained is to dot it yourself via utility knife works well just a litle prick a squirt drained.

lol.
