my buddy has alot of fish and i stop over and visit every month or so and hes had a 5 inch elong with a 6 inch rpb in a 45 gallon for about a year now and i asked him if they fight at all and he told me that when he first put them together the elong took a nice nip out of the rpb tail but since it grew back they havent touched each other and they sit side by side.. i do not encourage this mix but a year with no probs is pretty dang good..it would really be something if they made it 2 yrs.

serra and pygo cohabs have never been reccomended, but have been done in the past, i saw, an amazing 200, with a few pygo's and a few serras, and they got along fine, i still wouldn't reccomend it to a novice.

Nothing is ever a certainty. When people say it ‘can never be done’, they are speaking in regard to generalisation. Obviously there are always exceptions to all the ‘rules’ in life. However as well as this being lucky, I would also say it is a ticking time bomb. The bomb might not ever explode, but there’s a big chance it will in the future. People take the risk with this ‘bomb’ all the time, some lose out straight away, some lose out a little further down the line, and some get away with it.

My little philosophy .. applied to this ..
