Thought I would do a run to the Lfs's today for something to do,I couldn't believe my eyes when I came across this bad boy.14" of muscle.:headbang2
His fins are a bit tatty at the momment but will soon heal nicely.He is very heavy bodied and great markings considering he is new to the tank and still stressed.

Only back until tommorrow arvo,then I head off again.3 day break.I am now glad it was this weekend I got the days off after this find.They only got him in yesterday and I wasted no time putting my name on him.LOL
 
One of my favorite cichlids.
Most big jags I see at lfs are not perffect looking like crooked or torn fins and stuff. Is he like that? I like his striking patterns. Plus the size oooooh buoy!! That's a gangster lookin fish you got man. Update on the aditude once he settles.
 
He is just a bit tatty around the edges at the moment from 2 transports in 2 days but nothing that wont heal within a week.Just superficial marks.Body and fin formation is all good.I do know where you are coming from though.I also see a lot of grown fish around that are either stunted or deformed from being poorly housed.
 
If you don't mind me asking, what does something like that set you back over in sunny QLD.
