Can't concentrate

I can never concentrate when doing HW. I've been doing my Globalization HW since 2pm and still have a bit to go plus a short speech to write for another class. All I had to do was 2 quizzes pertaining to 2 chapters I read(35 pages total). These quizzes had 10 multiple-choice questions each. And seriously, I start doing them(it's a college online class) and just venture off onto another website. Or if I have to read chapters, I found myself thinking about how I need to put the Xmas tree away or that I should feed my triops or something stupid. I know I need to finish the HW, but I just wonder off somehow, them I'm thinking "WTF, it almost 7pm and I work tommorow at 5am(true story :() and still have HW to do and a small speech to write".

I seriously think there must be something up, like mental type of thing. Nothing major like ADD but maybe a small case of it I guess. Anyone else have experience this? It's fine until it hits 7pm or 8pm and I have to go to sleep in a few hours or I'll not get enough rest plus have HW to do. IDK, maybe I'm......:screwy:.
 
maybe u should have started saturday...
 
idk what my problem is, but I'm the same way.
Example: While trying to type a report, I couldn't help but come on here every 5 seconds, it took me 2 hours to finish a page. Then I went to practice and was too tired to do it. I tried doing it in the morning, but then I realized I prefer sleep over good grades. :irked:

That's the thing, I try. I HATE doing everything at the last minute, HATE it. I will start early, but then it's even worse because I know it's not due until Sunday so then I'll know it's okay if I don't finish today and just stop. IDK

I hear ya TTTT. It sucks.

ya i do that too, i find the only way i can get myself to do something ahead of time is to do it late at night for some reason i feel less distracted that way
 
I don't think you have any problem.

what you are experiencing is the main drawback of any online course.

you need extra discipline to do it. its not the same as the in class stuff where you drag yourself to class.

its easy to go online, with the intent of doing work, wandering to other websites, then saying "well, its getting late- I'll just do it tomorrow"

then tomorrow comes and guess what? the same thing happens.

try and avoid online/distance learning as best you can in the future.

I ran into the same problem after doing 6 in class nightschool courses and then the final two online.

I did the same thing LOL. ended up doing everything last minute which sucks.

students generally find they get better learning in an in class environment anyway. the discussion and interaction that takes place just cannot be duplicated in an online environment. even with message boards/chat etc.

its not the same.
 
I am like that. It can even be something I do want to learn about but I just can't sit there and read something.. I'll start read for not to long and start to do other things and barley get any of it done.. I also start early on HW I am not one to wait till last minute but ugh I just can't concentrate. My mind wonders off. I do something else. I play online and waste my day but I cant concentrate on HW. I am afraid this semester b/c my HW actually counts in my physics class and its online (I dont mind book hw but online? omg shoot me.... hate online HW). I am afraid I wont finish it b/c I will never concentrate on it.... at least with book work I am away from my computer.
