ok heres my dilema I want to get one NICE pair of fish and I really like centerals and southie cichlids I have a couple common ones (oscar jds cons) but I would like a pair of rarer fish I would like to be able to breed them as well evently and if that might require buying a buncha juvies and growing them out to get a pair that is fine to. price cap for fish is 200$ TOPS. For tank size 125 would probaly be their final home so keep that in mind. thanks for any ideas!

BTW so far Aequidens rivulatus (a green terror type fish) is in the number one spot so that kinda gives you a idea of the fish types I like.

Why not go with a pair of EBJD? While they are still Jack's they aren't exactly common. However if it were my tank I'd go with a pair of Black Belts.

thanks for replies so far I supposadly have a pair of blue gene jacks but the feamale is almost black and the male is dark to they have 4 day old babies now though so im raiseing those to see if they actually are EBJD or not but either way I dont really want more JDs. I like the pic of the rainbow chic you posted but whats the scientific name so I can find out more info? I also like the Parachromis loisellei but idk so many choices ahhhhhhh btw im mostly looking at Jeff rapps stock of fish any other good websites with pictures you guys can think of?

Rainbow cichlid=herotilapia multispinosa :) I'm a big fan as well.

I would look into vieja and see if there are any species that you enjoy. If you felt patient, you might be able to get a juvie male and female Super Red Texas. They'd be alot of fun too.

i dont know much about breeding but
i picked up a rarer species
amphilophus sagittae.
i think they call it a black devil, its kinda like the reds except a slimmer body and they are more open water hunters. pretty fun to watch
and mines this very nice peach white color:grinno:

Well if you want it to be kind of a surprise, try Ken's (fishfarm) box deal. I haven't done this but I've read he sends quality fish!
