can't find my peacock eel in my 125 planted found 2 of 3 any tricks i can do besides tearing the tank apart. (its in there be cause i didn't know better)
1. Is your tank we'll sealed ? they are very good escape artists so check the floor around your tank and yes they can get far lol
2. Do you have an under gravel filter ? they are pretty good at finding ways into those death traps
3.Check your substrate these guys love to burrow around and like to get under tank decor
Toss in some of there favorite food after the lights have been off for an hour or so sit tight by the tank use a red or blue night light if you have one a flash light may scare them right back into hiding
1.sealed ok looked on the floor 5 ft all direction not there (all though i did loose 1 that way)
2.no under gravel 1 emperor 400 and 2 penguin 350's
3.feeding is hard (1 of many reason i am moving them) tank has roseline sharks diamond tetras and rasboras
the light idea i have a red bag im going to put over the light to filter in the red
I often do not see any of my 3 Eels for weeks, although I hear them tunneling through the rocks and gravel at night. I have also found my eels inside the filter portion of my whisper ex70 several times...
