I live in a relatively small town and I have tried every place that I know of for feeders and the best deal I can find is guppies or goldfish for .15 each. I have 6 new 3" monos arriving later this week and the person that I got them from says they only are eating feeders (rosy reds) at this point. I know these guys eat a lot and if they eat just 15 or 20 feeders each per day that is going cost me like $100 per week!!! As a college student this is not reasonable. I am very creative and will do what it takes to makes sure my new monos are well taken care of (catch tadpoles, whatever....) My question to the experts out there is what are my options? Do you guys know of any source for cheap live food for PBass? Hopefully I can get these guys on frozen bloodworms or even pellets but I want to make sure and have a contingency plan. Thanks for any replies.

P.S - I have posted this on two other boards so if you see it elsewhere I apologize, just looking for maximum input on this. Thanks

I would start with live blood worms. If you're lucky they will eat those. Mine are 5-7 inch Ocellaris and still eating about 100 rosies every 2-3 days between the three of them w/ frozen blood worms on top of that. They are pigs for sure man. G'luck! :grinno:

where I am, I go to the local waterway and catch mosquito fish as feeders for my arowana and JDs.
feeders around here are 10/1.30 or 10/1.00 at petsupermarket but very sickly.
