So I grabbed a huge Y shaped branch from outside for my tank. I boiled and disinfected it, but I can't seem to get it to sink. What do you guys do to get your new wood to sink? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Put the piece of wood in a large enough bucket to where its fully submersed. Keep something over top of the driftwood so it stays sunken in the bucket until it gets water logged.

meh that can take a long time..it took some of my logs almost a year to sink, i just put them in the tank and waited them down with stones.

Same here. I lay slate on them. I have one piece that's three years old and has only recently begun to sink.

Completely normal. If you've already treated it, just place it in your tank somewhere and anchor it down with rocks or slate.

if you cant wait. like other said slate them down. or put a big rock on top of it then later take out the rock or whatevers holding it down.

OR

sink it in warm/hot water so that it opens the pores so water can penetrate in. if water doesnt penetrate thru it wont sink.

just get some rocks! This is the easiest way to do it!

i put eggcrate at the bottom and zip tied mine down...then put the sand over the top...youd never know it was there
