It's the same one I've used before with no problems; 1" pvc ending at a 1/2 valve so I can control the flow. The valve is a new addition, so I thought that was the problem and took it off. No luck. I had the wife seal the bottom; I toked on the top to get water in, just like before. No luck. What's happening is the o/f is filling up, I get a mouthful of tank juice, she lets off the bottom pipe and it rushes out like it should. But then it dies to a mere trickle. This happens with or without that valve on the end. If I had any hair, I would have yanked it out by now.

p.s It's the same type of o/f in the pic posted by eh1421, minus the air check valve. (it's worked without the air check valve, just real noisy)

the air check valve is the best way to get the air out. I would install one and pull the air out through that. The check valves only purpose is to purge it of any air.

you might double check to make sure that the overflow isnt higher than the water level, as that would introduce air into it.

yep rallysman is 100% right ...u can always go old skool and stick airline tubing up to the center top of ur overflow tube and suck out the air but even then u'll get a small aip pocket... lol wwich if ur tank is near ur bed with all that air noise u'll hate bed time

Post some pic's!! Good luck!
