I have had a Cascade 1500 I've been putting back together after I bought it on Craigslist about a month ago. It's been running fine except it was blowing out micro bubbles. Yesterday I decided to fix the small air leak and replaced the seal on the media canister. I put it back together and started it up and it ran great with no air bubbles then all of a sudden it just kicked off and wouldn't do anything. I had to unplug it and let it sit for about 5 minutes and plug it back in to get it going again. It started right back up and was blowing out lots of water and again after about 30 seconds of running it just kicked off. I have replaced every seal on this thing and even put in a new Impeller since I bought it. I have no clue why it will run great then just kick off? I can get a whole new motor unit for cheap but if I can figure out what's going on with this one that would be great. I'd like to use it on my 55 gallon soon. Any suggestions?

It could very well be the "motor" which is just a coil of wire and may be shorted and heating up till the coil opens and shuts down (I don't think these have a thermal cut-out).

That and you've pretty much eliminated everything else. ;)

That's what I figured but thought I'd ask first before spending money on this thing. Oh well I got it for like $20 used I guess another $30 into it won't hurt.
