I fished for 45 minutes today after work on the Ohio River and caught 12-15 hybrid and a couple of white bass as well as a few saugar! The bite was ON! I caught a fish at least on ever third cast Biggest hybrid went about 5 pounds and I had a few monster fish on (maybe big strippers) that I just couldnt get turned.

It was AWESOME today even though it was 40*F and the wind was blowing 20mph!! Brrrr!

glad to hear it was good. I am planning on going again next week on my day off. I would love to get some sauger but they are tough to get here unless in a boat. however white bass, hybrid and stripe are everywhere. The big flat head have been really active lately aswell.

Is this the best time to fish for white bass.
where i'm at is a part of the east fork that runs into the lake where they spawn....usually in jan. feb. depending on the temp so good temp is in the 50's. i live in texas... not sure how it is in WI

Josh, what river you fishing on?

Saturday Im going out, I hope the bite is as good as yesterday as Im taking all keepers home!

FRY, Yesterday I caught all fish on 1/4oz chartrues jig heads and 3" white curly tail grubs. Saturday Im going to use the same jig head but try some Berkley Gulp 3" smelt...should be better!

Im hoping for a walleye cause last Sunday a man next to me landed a really nice one!

no limit on those fish?

In my state there is a 15 fish per person per day limit. No size limit though. Of course if you want to fillet a small fish just for a bite....all the power to ya!
