In my quest for a community tank of large fish I have ran into constant battles. Some of these have not been pretty and have led to the death of some occupants. These issues have of course mostly involved CA cichlids.
My goal is a tank that is relaxing and calm but I'm having a hard time getting there. You would think the culprit in my tank would be the 10" Midas; nope he's a puppy - no issues of aggression with him. It just seems to be the others I have tried in the mix that are problem fish with each other. All my tank fights/deaths have been tankmates in the 2"-3" range, these little buggers are horrible with each other. Currently everyone is in a 120g (60x18x26) growout with the intent on the keepers going into a 210g. But I am still on a quest to find the right mix.
So my question to all of you: Have you found the right mix? The perfect group of fish that get along. If so what is it?
