Hey dudes,
Ive just bought a 6` x 2` x 2` ex marine tank that had seen better days, ive resealed the tank ( plugged 2 holes in the base that were for inlet and outlet tubes ), and redone the plumbing to the sump/wet n dry filter after checking everything was water tight.
Now her comes the confusing part
, i connected everything up fillled the sump tank and marked the water level and left it 2 run, i dont know how but 12hrs later the water level in the sump had dropped by nearly 4 litres, i know this because i poured water into the sump using a measuring jug up to the water level.
Can anyone tell me if this is normal as this is my first tank with a wet n dry/sump, i deffinatley know their is no water leaking from anywhere and it cant be down to evaporation becuase it has no heater.....hmm. :WTF:
