$500

"filamentosum 18" plus 4-5" streamer for sale. Perfect whiskers, streamers, and fins. Purchased from and imported by ECZS last year at 2". Feeding on xlarge silversides, pellets, small baby cichlids, market shrimp. Pick up only for piraiba, unless you arrange and pay for shipping. Cannot guarantee shipping. More photos available to serious buyers. I reserve the right to end this auction early as fish is listed locally for sale also. "

Looks like a cap to me based on the spots. Wes has said that the filas have smaller, less numerous spots. My observations of fish that are alleged to be 'true' filas would support this.

Either way, I think your asking price is fair. If its cap, one at that size practically never comes up in the hobby. Little ones are even rare. If it's a fila (which I doubt), the price is quite honestly a steal.

I don't want the fish either way so I have no reason to lie to you about numbers.

If you will, check these out threads - they may help in the ID efforts and in pricing too.

Member Tyjo in particular recently donated his 18" capa to Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. Vast majority of the MFK-ers are concerned that it is EXTREMELY hard to find the right accommodations for this majestic animal, so selling it is not a priority for them but placing it right out of love and awe before such a creature; they do get concerned especially if they perceive that the prime aim is to make a buck. I'm not accusing you of anything at all, just re-capping the many discussions for you. IMO, you are most definitely free to do what you will within the legal system.
