capping ray barbs for shipping

any ideas on a preferred method of capping a rays barb, airline sound OK but seems to slip off is there something else i can do.
if youve seen something on youtube can you post the link. thanks Shane

Not necessary just clip The end of the barb off so it's blunt. Be Careful!

Personally speaking, the most popular methods seen used by shops here is with bits of Styrofoam or what looks to be like an air line stuck to the barb...

Other than those two methods, haven't really seen any others being used? although i'm not a ray keeper so i wouldn't really know...

if you are shipping the ray yourself just put the ray directly in the polybox no need to clip or bags

I'd just clip the barb. Quick, painless and no worries about taking off a cover later.

I use 3 bags with a layer of edpm pond liner between bags 1 & 2 and don't worry about capping the barbs. The ray will always breach bag 1, but that's likely just from biting even if you do cap it. The pond liner keeps the ray from breaching the outer bags either by biting or poking.

I clip the barbs using some side cutters.
