What is the biggest CB Polypterus ansorgii and Polypterus bichir lapradei anyone here has seen? Is it true the CB's only max out at about 16 - 18 inchs?
If so would a 125 work in the long run?

They both can average 18 but can exceed that easily. Depends on genetics.

Really depends on many things, but would expect them to outgrow a 125 with good care.
