Captive warmouth size

Anyone know the max size of a warmouth in captivity? I know they can hit 12" wild, but my wild caught (legally) has maxed out around 7". Had him over a year, started at about 3", eating like the pig he is in a very well filtered 125g. Just not growing much more. :/

Maybe your's is a female? I regularly catch 10-12" ones in my marina so the rumors of them getting football sized aren't lies.

How could I tell if it's female? But it wouldn't surprise me. my bluegill keeps making mating moves at it lol

Duller colors are normally a good indicator but water quality and parameters affects color too so it's not a sure fire way to tell. Have any pictures of it?

These are the best I could get. It hangs near the surface just under the duckweed a lot and always faces me when I come to the tank thinking I have food. Pretty much the north American version of an Oscar. Pretty timid for such a huge eater
