Considering the males get over 10" and they don't like each other, as well as wanting very clean water ... I'd say an 18" wide, 90 gallon would be the min though a 5' or even 6' would be much better.
 
From what I understand, when not breeding they aren't as friendly towards each other as most cichlids. If lostnight doesn't pipe in, you might want to pm him. He has a pair in a 90 gallon, though they aren't full grown yet (6" if I remember correctly).

I heard the same thing about myersi.. I wonder how there with other cichlids though.
 
Reports Camp say myseri are even worse than spects ... but they've always been so rare until the last year or two, I couldn't honestly say.
