Just get a carapo knifefish,my first knife ,
is 15cm long and is in my comunity tank ,mostly preds .
the food i give to those fish are chopped mussels,squid ,bloodwormes ,eartwormes ,chiken liver and heart,also catfish pellets and chiclids pellets, is this good for him .
are they agressive wor calme

I got my first knifes a couple monthes ago too, also carapo, a 7" and a 12". they can not be kept in the same tank, because they relly on electricity for site, and they can even fight through a divider, killing both fish with their magnetic fields. because of this, they can not be kept with moramids or other electric fish. their are sevral unidentified species that look simalar wich wind up in pet shops, all marked as "G. carapo", so their are several color forms, and varieties of carapo. one of the most stricking of these, would be the flash carapo wich can demand several hundred $$$$. Miles can get these. I hand feed mine a varied diet of freeze dried tubifex, frozen beef liver (better than beef heart), and other meaty foods. they can go a little over a month without food, if they are large and healthy, so i only feed mine 2-3 tubifex a weeks, or 2-3 1 inch slivers of BL. The beef liver is VERY full of protein, so it should be given once a month, the rest of the weeks, tubifex opr other foods should be fed, or the dfish could die.

yeah we had a box of 12 come in and they had torn each other apart. Live and learn. Best if you have them in with big fish that aren't aggressive.

they need to be bagged separately, thats why this great knife is not often avalible, poor shiping. if you go for rarer carapos, miles is one of the only trust worthy supplier.

yes but Milles is other side of the lake ,
Mine first day try is luck against Platydoras costatus to gain a hiding place ,he lose and get a bit scrach ,but is eating well, so what is the grow rate is fast or slow

haha zix, I love platydoras costatus. Mine came back from the dead, what a tough little fish.

He doesn't take crap from anyone in my tank, except my hyper aggressive pictus.

Kept the one I used to have alone from day one. Didn't trust him based on looks alone but man what a cool fish.

mine is quit large (12"). hes in with 2" fish and up. (chiclids, catfish, and 1 5" bicher
