K so I'm in advanced composite building at my college. Does anyone have any cool ideas for making something from carbon fiber? I'm brain dead right now and can't think of anything to make? Lets hear it
I need a huge wing on my car fwd car so I can have down force on the rear wheels. LOL! Nah, I think if the rim of an aquarium was CF with a high gloss finish that would look sharp.
How about a light canopy? I thought of doing something similar. Of course, I have also entertained the idea of rebuilding my 16" dobsonian telescope using carbon fiber as well... but that hasn't gotten off the ground yet.

I always thought a plywood planted tank would look could neat if carbon fiber mesh were used on the inside instead of fiberglass and epoxy. I think the contast between the more industrial looking carbon fiber would look nice against the random nature of the plants. But if this is for a class project I don't think sealing a plywood tank with carbon fiber would really cut it. Instead you'd probably need to make a free standing carbon fiber tank. That would be amazing.
Another thought is to make a reptile cage like the original Neodeshas but from carbon fiber. A lot of people aren't old enough to remember this but the original design that Neodesha purchased were made by a guy in Pittsburgh. They were blue and made from fiberglass, polyester and gel coat. Neodesha bought the design and made them from vacuum formed ABS plastic.
Ya I was thinking a light canopy. Maybe that what ill do...
And yeah I actually have one of those neodesha tanks for one of my snakes! The idea of making a cf backing for a tank would be unusually cool! I like that idea too!! Maybe I could come across some glass or thick Plexiglas and go with just making a tank out if it and the whole lighting system of it too! Good ideas. Ill quote you on them if I do it haha! And post pictures! It will take me about a week and a half to make it. I've come up with an idea since I first posted to make a fishing pole rack for my rear window in my truck seems I can't find a store around here, even a military outlet that sales them anymore. That will be about a two day project. I only do it for three hours a day otherwise I could knock it out quick and build that lighting structure! The heated cure also takes three hours at 300 to 400 hundred degrees. Then gel coat it all to make it spiffy lol!!!
Keep um' coming people haha!
