Does running carbon in your filter take out your ferts and organic carbon, like flourish and excel?

I was wondering this aswell. What if you just add the ferts more frequently and accept a little extra expense? Id really want to keep carbon in my filter, despite what anyone says, carbon DOES make a noticeable difference in water clarity. At least in my experience. Obviously this assumes your not overfeeding, overstocking, or neglecting water changes.

Carbon will remove all chemicals. Organic or inorganic. If you choose to run carbon, you'll have to take it out every time you use any sort of chemicals.

If its for water clarity, i wonder if you could get away with using Purigen... that stuff is known to polish water like no other...

I use purigen in my 70 gallon planted tank and it works wonders buddy! It's a bit expensive to buy but you can recharge it up to 10+ times so its well worth it!
