so I got rid of my monsters and got my tank under control now. I got a 225 gallon tall, with a fluval 404 and a fx5. I got 65 cardinals in there. I was wondering how much more cardinal tetras could I put in there till i'm over stocked. I didn't know if I was so-post to go by 1 inch of fish per a gallon of water, or 1 inch of fish per a inch to the total link of the aquarium(ex 225 gall on tall is 72 inches long, so there for I could have 72 cardinals) what is the right way. I was thinking I could at least have 100 to 150 more?

i would think u can can fit sooooo many cardinals in a 225 tall that u wouldnt bother to continue counting xD

"For small fish like glo-light tetras you will end up with something like this,
1 1/2"x 1/4"x1/2", this comes to 3/16 of a gallon (about 1/5), and that gives you 5 fish of this size per gallon (quite reasonable)"

so If I'm reading that right I could get 5 cardinals per gallon so I could have
225x5= 1,125. so it sounds like I could get like 800 to 1,000 of them in my tank with out a problem cool.:):headbang2thanks bros.

cool, I wasn't going to put 600-800 in there anyway. I have 65 so far and thinking 200-300 tops. side question, does anyone know how to price driftwood? I got a big piece 2L x 1 1/2 d x 2 1/2 T. that I want to sell. I will sell it, or trade for a couple of smaller pieces.

I've seen 90-100 gallon tanks with 400-600 cardinals in them. As long as the water quality is good and the upkeep is well maintained, you won't have an issue and the cardinals will be happy to have so many others to school with.
