Well this was unexpected, a arboreal animal down and into one of its water bowls. I find it nessesary to provide animals with large swimming spaces, nothing wrong with that.

I didnt quite shut the lid of this ones cage because she was eating on it! After ahwile, I remebered to see if she finished her rat and to my surprize, she didn't go back into her tank as planned. Insted this is what she was doing.

Now I expect my Macklots to enjoy the water because its a semi aquatic species of snake. COOL

LOL, the snake in the water pictures are funny. Are these guys fisheaters? If so I would be more careful about where it goes. :)

Thank goodness the tank is only being cycled at the moment. If the snake didnt already eat and their was fish in the tank, I would expect to see a few missing. I know yellow anacondas just love to eat fish in the wild, but im not 100% on the macklots, rather not try tho!:D

Hey I just started seeing mine sitting in the water for the first time yesterday. Thought it was a little weird because it's not even close to shedding.

Anyway yours is looking pretty nice...how old/long is it? Mine I'd guess is about 25"+/- and about six months old.

Well my coastal was bought on the 10 of spetempber of 2006 and she was only the size of a pencil. Mine is 24-26 inches and is pretty big.

What do you feed it?

Well my Coastal eats rats 125% of its body. Its hard to find realy small rats and they dont seem to fill her up at all. Recently I fed her mice because the pet store didn't have any rat. This snake can handle something 2-3X her body size. She a little pig. I hope i can get another soon...

Yeah mine's a pig too. I feed it usually twice a week, the day after I see the lump has gone down considerably. I've worked it up to small rats twice as thick as its body. I'm not powerfeeding though; there's no way this snake is going to get fat anytime soon. And I wish I could get another...kind of just wish I knew the sex of mine but it's too big to pop and too small to probe.
