My guess is the body shape looks like a shortnose.

My first instinct is to say Florida but given the pics and the unknown angles etc...I'm not to sure..

No doubt it is either Oculatus or Platyrhincus though.

My instinct said florida as well....I just wanted others' opinions because there is a story behind this one.

Can you get a good lateral pic of the head? and just how big is it ?

This is the only other pic where I could pull a head shot from....Hope this helps, haha. The gar is about 16".
